Rent Vs. Buy. When is a good time to rent and when it is more thrifty to buy? If you know you will love a movie and will want to see it many times over, then you know it would be cheaper to save the pennies and buy. However, if you only shampoo the carpets once a year or two, that may be the best time to consider renting. If you are paying a lot of money on late fees for returning, consider the savings it would be to buy. The pros and cons of rent versus buy is often in the hands of the user. Here are some things we have rented or bought;
Rented:
DVD’s from the redbox or local Christian book store.
Wood Chipper from Home Depot.
Costumes for a ballet performance.
Purchased:
Books needed often enough for school work.
Textbooks for college classes.
Movies we want to see more than once. Mom’s Night Out, was a movie we knew we wanted to own. We waited until it had been out a few months and then purchased it for about half the cost of what it would have cost us paying for it when it first came out. Patience brings savings!
